Uhhhh okay so the Singapore Youth Olympic Games has two mascots right? Lyo and Merly?
www.singapore2010.sg/public/sg… (Randomly, I never knew what the names stood for until now. Oh,
Singapore.)
They're both really adorable, and I think the general consensus is that Lyo is a male and Merly is a female.
But if you look at it this way:
Merly is based on a Merlion, the uhhh..
animal that represents Singapore (because all the other cool real animals were already taken by other countries. DAMN YOU!). The Merlion is the mix of a lion and a... fish? Mermaid?

NOW. As we all know from science, male lions have manes, female ones do not. The Merlion has always been depicted with a mane. So therefore it is a male lion with a fish body. A female Merlion would look like this (in my opinion):

That's right.
Merly has a mane.
Merly is a crossdressing guy merlion.
(CANNOT UNSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE)
"But, wait!" You say.
"There are
some articles that mention female lions (lioness is the right term, yo) sporting a bit of hair!"
Well...
They would be the equivalent of this:
